More contemporary YA books are coming
My next young adult book will be released in April 2018, Starry Eyes, but I’m also thrilled to announce that there will be more books being published through 2020. Publishers Weekly posted details of a new book deal here, if you’re interested in learning a little about what’s in the works with my publisher:
So, there it is! Serious Moonlight will publish in spring of 2019. I’m thrilled to continue to work with Simon and Schuster, the incredible Simon Pulse team, and the brilliant Nicole Ellul (editor of Alex, Approximately and the forthcoming Starry Eyes). Many thanks also go out to my agent, Laura Bradford!
Maybe the best news of all is that there’s even MORE exciting news to come! Stay tuned!

Congrats on the new contract! Can’t wait to meet your new characters and read about their adventures!
A quick question though…any chance that we are ever going to see Acadia and Lon again? Or the Roaring Twenties crew? I fell in love with both casts of characters and would love to spend another night or two with them!
Again, looking forward to “Serious Moonlight,” and wishing you the best

Hi Sar,
My Spanish is a little rusty, but I think you might be asking me to send you a copy of Starry Eyes (Bajo las Estrellas)? I’m sorry, but I don’t mail out free copies of books (you’d need to contact my publisher in Mexico). You may find a used copy from an online retailer that ships internationally if your local bookshop doesn’t carry it. Good luck!

Hey, Tamra! Thanks so much! Regarding Cady & Lon… Never say never, but at this point? Chances are pretty slim. I made the decision to end that series when UF was waning in popularity; sadly, it never rebounded as a genre. A few longtime bestsellers still write it, but for the rest of us, the chances of selling new UF material to NYC are slim to none. I’ve occasionally considered self-pubbing more Cady for fun, but right now my schedule is booked solid: I’m contracted to write three books over the next year, which leaves no down time. But I’m still proud of those early books and the characters will always have a place in my heart. So thank you for caring about them. It means a lot.

I also really loved the Roaring Twenties series and would really enjoy more books in that world or other interesting locations. I personally find YA and New Adult to be unsatisfying, even when very well written because the emotional stakes and complexity as by nature less than with people who have lived more life.

I am fully involved with Alex, Approximately and Anatomical Shape of a Heart. Like, serious relationships here. I read both a handful of times throughout 2017 and, while I really enjoy your adult books, these YA stories truly have a hold on me. I am waiting with baited breath for Starry Eyes to make its appearance (have entered the Goodreads give away with all 10 fingers and all 10 toes crossed) and am now very much looking forward to Serious Moonlight and all other future YA novels to come. Your relationship building is beautiful and something I try to emulate in my own writing. Please don’t ever stop writing. <3

Hi, Ginger! Thank you so much for saying this. I’m glad to hear that you enjoy these, because I adore writing them, and I’m humbled that you consider them inspirational. And I wish you all the luck in the world with the Goodreads giveaway. If you don’t get picked (I think Goodreads has an automated system for choosing winners), then know that if you save your preorder receipt from anywhere—Barnes and Noble, Amazon, local bookstore—I’ll be sending out signed bookplates with original Starry Eyes-inspired artwork as an incentive. Announcement and more details coming in early to mid March. Thank you for reading!!
